Wednesday was a special occasion for us, a wedding anniversary, so we chose to celebrate at Central Park’s Loeb Boathouse. We had been there once before for dinner, but that was many years ago. And then, you didn’t need to show proof of vaccination to dine.
One of the best things about eating at the Boathouse is the setting. You’re seated by the side of the lake and watch rowboats, a gondola, and ducks go by.
Another good thing is the food. One of our entrees was halibut with chanterelle mushrooms, asparagus risotto and truffles. It was excellent.
The other entree was pacherri pasta with rock shrimp, bottarga (tuna roe) and zucchini cream. That dish was tasty, but it could have used more shrimp - there were only 5 or 6 tiny ones nestled among the giant pasta tubes. The unusual zucchini and tuna roe sauce was creamy and luscious.
For dessert, we shared a chocolate truffle cake with raspberries and a spectacular minty chocolate chip ice cream. So good!
Love the Boathouse! great food!!!!!
